My tough Puppies only lasted 12 months . Took them to cape york though. I found the fronts did not have enough lenght and kept destroying the bushes. I have standed bump stops. I didnt use the cheap nuts they surplied and a mate found out when his pulled though the top mount and bent the shaft.
I now have OME from ARB, and find them better valved and better value. I carfully cheaked the lenght and found them spot on.

I used ironman foam cells on my LandCruiser and thought them to be excellent. Also had pro comps on my Patrol and they were very good too. As for my Monty I'm going to go with the ProComps again purely because their whole suspension package is approximately 1/2 price of the ironman and they're just as good - so i figured i'd save my money. Procomps come in a whole variety of lengths as well so you can pick and choose.
Markyd what makes you feel that Ironman are way superior to procomp? Procomp springs [from Procomp explorer - where we both know the club shop gets them from] are made by dobinsons springs in Australia. So torsion bars and rear springs are comparable. As for the shocks... correct me if i'm wrong but you have ironman's gas shocks [more because Westcoast 4x4 tend to sell them rather than ironman's more compliant foam cell shocks] which [as far as i'm aware] have a history of more dissatisfied clients than procomp gas shocks. Personally I prefer the ironman foamcell shocks to their gas shocks but, £320 all in for the procomps vs approx. £550-600 for the ironman.... ironman imo aren't worth the extra.
I also found the 'b' spec spring to be give less flex in my LC than the dobinson's did in my patrol but both could handle towing easily but, diff vehicles will need diff springs and thus will behave differently. Having said that I couldn't fault either springs - hence why i say they're just as good as each other.
But please do elaborate as to why you feel ironman are way superior to procomp

Sorry misread your orginal statement. Yes i am running gas shocks, i was referring to gas pro comp shocks. A number of people from various uk clubs have had to return there shocks to procomp and because of cracked struts. Although i know procomp provide a lifetime guarantee and have replaced them under this guarantee.
I have fitted both kits to pajero's and the iron man kit is far the easiest to do. with the pro comp shocker you have to faff about with different bushes to get it to fit. the iron man kit went on straight away.
Reference the procomp springs, a couple of people tim, and carl and hutchy have all replaced the procomp variety for iron man has they felt the procomp type were to bouncy for everyday use, the iron man springs are stiffer apparently.
As i said you are welcome to have a ride in mine and see what you think?
I guess it down to preference, and hey they havent been on long so time will tell.

I too had the problem you mention on the bushes of the procomp when fitting my patrol shocks. The sent me the RR Classic size eyes for the patrol.... but no worries on that. I just drilled out the bushes a little.markyd wrote:Harvey,

As for what you mention re: procomp springs.... it sounds to me then that the club shop jobbie isn't really an uprated spring like the ironman... it must just be a lift spring. Ironman like OME don't do 'lift springs' as such they only do uprated springs.
Any idea if my assumption on the club shop procomp springs is correct Mark?
