I've been noticing over the last week or two that the brake warning light (the one on the dash) stays on once the hand brake is released on my triton.
The brake fluid level is fine and both the handbrake and the normal brakes are working fine. Ive changed all the pads less than 10,000kms ago.
I've noticed that it seems to happen once the ute has sat for a few days without being driven. Usually it stays on for 10 to 15mins and then just goes off by itself during normal driving.
I was thinking that the swtich under the handbrake lever might be stuffed?? Any ideas?

Handbrake Warning Light

I think you solved your own problem , the switches are very basic and get dirty and or broken , give it a clean and spray some wd-40 on it to loosen it up , happens to brake pedal swotches too , Cheers Paul.
