Im looking to purchase a 3 litre TD Hilux and have found a Lux with the following model number:
Vehicle 2003 TOYOTA HILUX LN167R MY02 Dual Cab
Price $31,990 *
Engine 4 cylinder Diesel Multi-point injected 3.0L (2986cc)
Stock # 13097T
I was curious of the model number LN167R: is this a straight diesel??
I have been told that the turbo diesels have a model number simlar to KZN16SR rather than an LN number.
The reason i ask is i dont want to buy a Lux with an aftermarket turbo on it - id rather a factory fitted turbo so i know exactly what i'm getting.
Can anyone please shed some light on this for me??
Thanks.

I think the factory turbo Luxes of that vintage also had R151F gearboxes which are stronger than the standard one. You could check the gearbox info on the plate in the engine bay.
I do think that the price you mentioned may be a little high for that year also. I would have thought 25 or 26K would have been more realistic.
Cheers
