Find something already fitted with atleast one diff lock (aside from the centre diff lock), these will be the dearer of your upgrades and will be needed if you choose to do any hard driving

Hunt fo a cheap rangie classic, with some mods already done ;)

Slightly above your price range but may be able to negotiate something.

Any pics of the disco seats fitted? What are they like, and what mods were needed???

On topic - what sort of body style and wheelbase are you looking for? Would you prefer a V8 or a diesel?

Old rangies are dirt cheap these days, but you can fit (MUCH) bigger wheels on a county without mods, and you have a stronger driveline to start with.
