U have to buy a new one.

Depends on where u broke it. u may be able to buy a new inner core or have to buy a complete bit. be prepared to pull half the dash aprt to fit it as well.

You can reach up behind the cluster without removing lots of stuff if you have good hands. Ther are pretty cheap, bout 20 min to change.

From memory it's a fairly easy, if fiddly, job. I did the same thing, helps if you've got little hands to do the end in the dash.

Same happened to mine not so long back but got crushed between a rock and the floor. Paid $30 and with good hand placement behind dash can change in bout 20 mins as Layto said. Just pushes on and pulls off from cluster and at transfer end just loosen the bolt, replace and tighten again. done.

i paid $40 for a genuine suzuki one, you will need a torx bit to drop the steering wheel, do not try to remove the dash without doing this... otherwise you will snap the cluster plastic mounts... this is what i did and it took me a year to get round to gutting another cluster and transfering my speedo to the new housing.

you dont have to drop the steering shaft....just be careful when removing.

mine took maybe 15 mins cost me 25 bux from the wreckers.

easy if you take notice when you pull the old one out.

What tools are needed for this job??

Mine is broken down near the transfer case, a new cable and housing will be here tomorrow, and wouldnt mind giving it a go myself.

Anyone have a step by step guide??

Thanks a heap.

And yes, I know its a old topic :P

10mm socket to remove the locating bolt at the t-case end. slide the cabe out (not the speedo drive) then follow it up to the floor. Lift your carpet up and follow the cable round. Reach up behind your dash and pull the cable out from the speedo drive. Fit new cable as per reverse of instructions. Very easy job.

Yeh i had to replace mine, i used cable from my spare zook though so dont know how much it cost. Just be aware, when i removed mine, it was secured with one of those metal twist tie things that suzuki likes to use, took me a while to get to it too up under dash, couldnt work out why the hell it wouldnt just pull out.

Thanks for the info bud,

My cable will be here tomorrow.

I had a look at it today, doesnt look to hard except gettin up under the dash. I can see it goes up under the dash on the passenger side, how the hell do I pull it out and fit it from there?? As I'm guessing the cable goes all the way to behind the cluster?

Thanks.
