Will you build these for other people, I am interested. Big difference in Wayne Smiths Twin Winch motors and Wazza's. Wazza's motors are inline with one another, (taking up less room on your bar), Wayne's motors are beside each other (one in front, the other behind) causing you to possibly have to change your bar for it to fit. ( don't really want to do that.. I'm happy with my bar)... It has a whole new top hat.
Heard that the 3 trucks using wazza's twin motors are still good as when they got them. Can't wait for mine!!

Glikinpin $ Expensive I know
Wayne Smiths $
Wazzas $

Check your PM.. you have his costs and number. Would highly recommend him as he knows what he's doing and GREAT price! Won't rip anyone off! He's looking after me really well.

twin motor setup
Just released a +13% ratio increase for the Gigglepin winch twin motor gearbox top for those who are interested.
Just before everyone rushes out & buys Twin winch motors be aware that the guys that run them probably run upgrade gears & main shafts which is an extra cost, as currently they are designed to take a certain amount of Torque & by adding the extra motor there is much more chance of snapping gears /shafts etc...

I had spoken to Wazza and he has said the 3 winches he's made that are used on Shrek, Birdy and Hoons truck are "stock standard, original highmounts" and havn't broken them yet!.........and these are winning trucks that we're talking about...Big Red Toy wrote:Just before everyone rushes out & buys Twin winch motors be aware that the guys that run them probably run upgrade gears & main shafts which is an extra cost, as currently they are designed to take a certain amount of Torque & by adding the extra motor there is much more chance of snapping gears /shafts etc...
I guess it comes down to how we use them and not abuse them.

I busted mine with a standard motor! I would deffinately look at an upgraded shaft for twin motors. Although i did hear that the giggle pin shafts are made out of the same material as the warn items its just that giggle pin have removed the weak point where the locking plate sits. So therefor tha small grear that is fixed to the shaft remains as weak as the warn. Can u confirm this wayne?Big Red Toy wrote:Just before everyone rushes out & buys Twin winch motors be aware that the guys that run them probably run upgrade gears & main shafts which is an extra cost, as currently they are designed to take a certain amount of Torque & by adding the extra motor there is much more chance of snapping gears /shafts etc...
Formally known as a Warn Man.Big Red Toy wrote:Actually of all people LOCKEE could probably clear this up seeming he is the WARN man
The standard M8274 is only offered max with a 4.6hp 12v Motor. Even a standard 12v 6Hp motor will exceed the torque loads of the winch. The estimation with a 6hp motor you are able to pull 10,000lb.
My main concern is the ability of the lower housing to take the load. Earlier barake shafts seem better than the later ones.
Wazza's conversions seem to be more reliable than others but the operators are also very smooth
Yeah but if you run twin gearboxs on a single drum you will half the load on the gears brake shaft.LOCKEE wrote:My main concern is the ability of the lower housing to take the load. Earlier barake shafts seem better than the later ones.

Now Birdy, Andrew & pete will all get big heads with you calling them smooth operatorsLOCKEE wrote:Formally known as a Warn Man.Big Red Toy wrote:Actually of all people LOCKEE could probably clear this up seeming he is the WARN man

Cool well good to know, so any confirmation of are the gears & shafts upgraded or just the twin motor adaptor?

Hi guys..it's WAZZA. Heard there's alot of chit-chat goin on about the winches.
Yes the 3 winches have totally standard gearboxes. They haven't broken yet. IT WORKS!!
Anyone with questions..just throw them at me.

There's a bit involved. I need one motor to do a little bit of work on. Yes it is just an adapter to join the 2 motors together. Contact me if you're interested in one. My number is below.tuf045 wrote:what sort of dollars are they? are they just an adaptor or a whole motor modified?The_Wazza wrote:No-one asked me.HIGH_STAKES wrote:or they will hate the fact that others can now buy this wazza TWM

Twin motors
The Gigglepin setup has the option to upgrade the brake shaft and cam gears. There where three different brake shafts that we have come across on high mounts, some you can drill easily some you need to machine cut. The Gigglepin shafts & gears are made from an E36 grade steel, where the better Warn shaft are made from an E24 grade. The Gigglepin setup does remove the weak point, where the Warn shafts are reduced in diameter, but they are also made from a stronger material.
There have been numerous issues with brake shaft failure, a few can be attributed to slack in the cable then sliding backwards and shock loading, but also some top competitors such as Kym & Normy in QLD have had them fail in normal winching conditions.

Twin Motor
Norm ran an adaptor plate on the side of the original high mount top gearbox housing to mount a second motor, I had it made up for him. The housing itself didn't fail, the small drive gear, that slides on the spline of the motor shaft, broke and that then damaged the corresponding gear in the top housing. It has been fixed and strengthened so it should work OK now, but it highlighted a weak point in the original Warn top housing with the size of the motor drive gears and there strength.
The new Gigglepin units are a complete replacement top housing with bullet proof gears and roller bearing supports to each end of the gears.
