Oil Pressure levels,

Post by nicbeer »

Hey

Anybody else got oil pressure gauges in their zooks?

I have a G16B mpfi. not properly running up all gears but at idle it is about 45-50 psi and rises with revs.

Is this normal and what is considered dangerous level?

Thx

nic probably best to post this sort of thing on the Swift/baleno sites. As they turbo and monitor these things way more often.

Redlinegti.com have this sort of info on the g13b motors... can't imagine the tolerances to be much different.

oil pressure

If you have 50 psi at idle(HOT) you must be running a thick oil EG 30W50. You only need 15-20psi at idle as there is no real load on engine.
A thinner oil will put less load on the engine so it will perform better. I would go a thinner oil EG 15W30 but check the bible for Suzuki recommended oil.

It'll probably come down to about 20-25psi when its idling hot. Nothing to worry about.
