Fuel pump questions

Post by dawg runner »

Gday,

Fitting a commodore v6 to my runner and just wandering what to do fuel pump wise.

I have been told to run a line into the tank and use a VL pump. So do i simply connect the VL pump to the pick up that is in my tank already or do i have to mount it in tank.

Could i grab the VS pump out of the commodore and get it fitted into my fuel tank?

Thanks in advance.

u could mount a vs pump in tank but it would be sum friggin round..

the VL pump is a inline pump so all u have to do is mount it inline (belive it or not :D ).. but beware.. vl pumps do not like to run above the tank.. pays to put a low pressure pre pump on otherwise they dont last long.. they dont like to suck..

Whoever told you to use a VL pump doesnt like you....get a v6 tank with pump and away you go....u will have problems with surge as the vl pump has an in tank pump to prime it....

dow50r,

When you say v6 tank do you mean use the commodore v6 tank or get a v6 4 runner tank and pump.

Sorry for the stupid question just was not sure what you meant.

Thanks

i'd think a runner v6 tank should bolt in and flow enough not to starve it.
plenty of parts on the bench

Yeah a v6 runner tank...because it comes with inside pump...and you will probably be able to get fuel lines and other stuff u need....
