The missus just called me at work. The bloody fuel filler door on the 80 series 4.5L won't open. After 5 mins of yanking on the latch in the front I asked her nicely to get in the back remove the panel where the jack is stored and pull on the wire to open it, still won't open!
Anybody else had this happen? Any ideas on how to talk her through getting it open? (Why is it so hard for women to understand so simple things when they are worked up over nothing?!?!?!?!)

Fuel Filler Door Won't Open!
Harold Scruby has hit more pedestrians than me
Had the same thing on the work car the other week. Must be a Toyota thing
The problem I had was that the "spring" that pops it open when you pull the lever had bent so it wasn't pushing the flap open.
Had to get somebody to prise at it while I pulled the lever. Once i got it open, i bent the spring out a bit more and no further problems.
Hope this helps.
