Advice on selling my Zuk

Post by Dee 4x4 »

Hey guys. I have a 1996 Suzuki Sierra with lifted springs, body lift, 4AGE 20v (engineered), rear air locker, 30" muds + other stuff.

Now I'm wanting to sell it because I need something a little comfier and more practical but the car will take quite a lot of effort to get a roadworthy certificate because of all the mods.

I'm considering just selling the car unregistered to save the hassle of getting it all roadworthy (if that's even possible). When I bought the car a year ago it came with a roadworthy cert but I know that whoever did it obviously overlooked quite a few things.

With a roadworthy cert, I'd like to get 9-9.5k for it. Without, I'd like to get 8. Do you think it's a reasonable idea to try and sell in unrego'd or am I crazy? It's just that I don't have much spare time.

As an indication, I'd need different wheels, fix the stuffed hazard light switch, get the reverse lights working (which never worked), get it passed with the suspension and body lift and various other annoying things like that.

I'm just after some opinions. Any ideas welcome as I'm sure there are quite a few people out there who understand the trouble of roadworthying a modded 4wd. Unfortunately I don't know of a mechanic who'd simply pass it for me with the mods.

Ps. I'm in Brisbane.

The engine conversion and the two seater conversion (no back seats) are both mod plated on the vehicle.

I was thinking about selling interstate if I did it without rego because that way it wouldn't matter as much I assume. Good idea though, I might put up an official ad and see what offers I get.

Cheers.
