Since changing the battery in my 3L powered lux a couple weeks ago it starts from cold without having to wait for the glow plugs to warm up. The engine doesnt need to be cranked forever either, it fires right up from the time I flick the key.
My question is, is this bad for the engine in any way? It idles and runs fine after starting. Coldest it gets around here is 23C or so in December.
My Dad's old Mitsubishi L200 and new L200 Sportero (think they're called Triton's in Oz) take forever to start even after waiting for the glow plug light to go out. The engines in them seems to need a good few cranks before they catch while mine starts from dead cold quicker than my Mum's new petrol Corolla.

Glow plug question

yeah new battery could have helped this mates is crap to start in morning he keeps trying to tell me that it need glowplugs but he only has a 380cca battery and needs to be at least a 550cca (CCA) cold cranking amps so glow plugs are underpowered air isn't heated enough= hard to start plenty of power and it'll fire straight up hope this helps you understand it.
