Our 7 does not have a windscreen, It is getting engineered at the moment. If you have a windscreen the only adr's (old was less than 2% tint no longer valid) the only other one is a certain %age needs to be swept by the wipers.

2ndly qld is the hardest state to get icv's passed, therefore this should apply to all states

if its a new car like a bf falcon it may be deemed to be part of the rollover structure etc and this may not apply.
and are you gonna drive down the freeqay at 100 with no windscreen?

Think about the old mokes, they didn't have doors from the factory.

Why is it anymore dangerous to drive a car without doors then it is to ride a motor bike? I still prefer to be T boned in a car without doors then to be T bone on a motorbike.
no way, any car that came with a door factory is unroadworthy without it.

kidding yourself if you think anything else.

in 1862 they had cars with timber wheels, doesnt mean its legal now.
Brothers 40 series is legal with NO doors on it as long as it has a chain or bar across the opening.
because they came with removable doors from factory.

Pull a door off a torrana and no amount of chain or straping is gonna make it legal.
hang on one second you say no way then in your next breath say its ok as they have removable doors. So which side of the fence are you going to sit.

I had a Sierra that was perfectly legal to drive around Victoria in without doors as long as it had all the side mirrors on that it would have if the doors were on. Maybe QLD is different and maybe other states are too, but you can do it legally in some places of Australia with some vehicles like the ones I mentioned in an earlier post.
A door that is designed to be removeable is completely different to unbolting the door from a rav.

In QLD i can guarantee if a DOT officer saw you you would get a cease use order.

What if you wear a helmet?

yep we get that, read what I have written I said for certain vehicles not all vehicles. Whhy is it so hard for people on here to just read what people type instead of making it up to suit what they want it to say

im gunna give it a go in my 40 series, i read sumwhere (not on outers) thats its legal as long as you have mirrors. im in rosebud victoria, when the police pull you up they r usually pretty cool unless your doin sumthing stupid. if they pull me over and say what are you doin ill tell them ive researched it and its legal, even if it isnt they probably wouldnt know any better. and if they know for a fact that its illegal they will probably send me home to put my doors on. worth a try i rekon
Ready to start the 40 series project, turn 2 into one, Just gotta clean the fuggin shed.....

For people in Victoria.

Vicroads have it in plain english. http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rdonl ... /VSI20.pdf

Question 11.

In short if your 4wd has removable doors, then yes you can run without doors but it is not advised.

Wranglers have the same sticker :)

Because the ADR's were changed in 1998 (1 year after TJ Wranglers were introduced... hmmm...) i read somewhere that 1997 Wranglers or pre-1998 vehicles, like Wooder's are legal to be driven without doors whereas mine is 2002 wrangler and it's illegal for me, even though the vehicles are identical. I believe it states somewhere there that the vehicle's door must not provide structural stability ie. it's designed to be removed etc...

I'm not sure about 40 series toyotas but i wouldn't think it'd be too hard to get away with it ;) as i've driven around plenty without the doors and had police wave at me or give me an RBT and let me go :)

Whats inside a jeep door!?? intrusion bars?? What about your soft doors!??

Know for a fact the half sierra doors have NO intrusion protection what so ever, two bits of sheet metal, thats it.. just a skeleton.. hmm oh so safe lol! And with the 'custom adjusting seatbelts' its safety city cruising in the zuki lol

tempted to get a few bits of pipe n make up some tube doors for when summer rolls around.. will see..
