16 inch rims?

Post by Kitika »

G'day i'm trying to find some 16x6 inch rims for my 1.3 sierra to fit 235/85 r16 or 750 r16 but i can't find anyone that sells them new. Can they be bought? Or are 16x7s alright with tyres this thin?

Yeah but dont they have a positive offset, hard to get and cost big $$$$? Altho they might look rather cool  I had asked at some tyre places down here but i've been told i can't get 16x6's to fit a zook anywhere in Oz? :?

Bugga! ... only one ... I need 5!

I heard the same. Been looking for a while, asked every tyre & wheel joint I can find in SA. Had one quote for $120.oo, but when pressed he couldn't produce the goods.
I thought of fitting wide rims to my old Daihatsu rims, but ya can't get deep well blank rims.

Only option is to get rims widened, or do some bootyfab.

My latest idea is to turn down the centres from standard vit wheels and weld them into some blank rims. that should give good offset too.

I also have a stack of LC splitties, and I reckon I could take the centres out of them, and replace'em with vit centres.

many years back I had some 16" LJ centres welded into Lada Niva rims to get the correct width and offset that I wanted. Cost me about $30 per rim. Had it done at Neway Wheels in Heidleberg

Yeah i got standard 15x5.5 with 235/75's but i'm sellin em for a good price cos i wanna upgrade to the taller but still skinny 235/85 r16. So if i can't buy new ones could i redrill a 16inch troopy split rim to suit the 5 stud zook pattern? dodgy i know

I think you will find all the CJs are 5 on 5.5....even my Mahindra CJ3B copy is.

TJs, XJs are 5 on 4.5

I should add my Mahindra is running 750x16s on the factory 16x7 wheels. But the other factory option was 31x10.5R15. Mahindras are few and far between but if you come across a wrecker with one you might get lucky and find a 16" rim model.
