Event Name : Rally for the Bush
Day and Date of Event : 9th – 11th June (Queens Birthday Weekend)
Location/Description : Rainbow, near Lake Albacutya
Trip out to this delightful township in the Wimmera country to join the community of this small town and have memorable experiences with the locals. During our stay you will hear of their problems with the drought and learn of the issues they face dealing with their current predicament. At the same time this visit is an endeavour to try and take their minds off their immediate problems by having an activity and fun filled social weekend with the city slickers from the Pajero Club. The objective is to put some dollars back into their economy whilst offering support and giving the Rainbow residents proof that the city folks have not forgotten them. Our visit is aimed at lifting the morale of the Rainbow locals.
The local townsfolk are supporting this initiative and will have their Lions Club organise the BBQ, the CWA will also be involved in the BBQ, locals will also act as trip Leaders to take us sight-seeing – the sand dunes, tracks, local properties, etc. The dance club will organise a social dance evening at the hall.
Saturday: travel to Rainbow and set up accommodation. Prepare your own dinner at the campsite or go to the Pub
The camp site will be the Recreation Area at the Showgrounds. This is subject to final confirmation by Rainbow Community Committee. Please note a small charge per evening will be applicable for camping.
