abs disconnect

Post by patzuki »

Is it possible to run without abs on a gu patrol offroad? Is it as simple as pulling out the fuses?

Thanks in advance.

And if you crash with the fuse out put it back in before you call your insurance company, they will void your warranty as fast as you can blink if they found out you crash cause of it

I wouldn't bet on that. In my 4.8 Auto trying to reverse down a loose hill the abs kick in when I got onto the really loose stuff causing me to come down the hill a lot faster than I would have liked. In a manual it's not such a big issue but auto's combined with abs and a hill can be damn right dangerous.

From then on I always pulled the fuse. And if you do have an accident I doubt the insurance bloke is going to come over and pop the fuse cover and check it.
Cheers
Brett

generally if the power in removed from abs or srs the light won't clear when the fuse is reinstalled. probably need the code that causes the light to come on cleared by the manufactures scan tool.
most abs systems don't operate under 7 km/h or there abouts
