i just found some cracks in the engine fan on my GU 4.2 turbo diesel. now do i replace it with a genuine Nissan one or put an after market electric one on like d/Craig. if electric what size?

id say just replace the blade, i think they sell em on ebay, or there is a mob in victoria called Hall 4x4 spares i think (others may now 100%) im sure they can source it for ya,

BUT i would prefer an electric fan.

i plan on doing it to mine one day

remeber what happenned to me in the watto's with my alt. my LWB now has a locked up fan, so if my alt dies again or my battery fails, i can drive it forever as long as i dont stall it

Ive been told that the aftermarket blades are crap. I would go genuine personally.

What do you mean by "locked up fan"? No viscous coupling?

yep 2 bolt through the coupling. my cousing lost 2 l/lm with this method in his gq diesel, but i dont need to worry about economy. we dont rev em to redline either ;)
