Bought coaxial off them as well. after all soldered checked for continuaty and cross leaks with multimeter seems ok. Only thing not sure of is the earth on the arieal mount. both arials mounted either side of bullbar. as said AM works fine have sent and recied transmission. turn on UHF Get volume, static squeelch seems to work tx/Rx switch when mic pressed but cant hear anyone or recieve. any help would be much appreciated THANKS

Not sure with the older UHF's, but it could be a microphone wiring problem.

On a lot of 27meg CBs, the RX audio won't work if you have a faulty mic connector or if the mic isn't connected. Just doing a quick google, it may be an IF stage (internal) problem. Prolly the best thing would be to find somebody local that can have a look at it.

I assume it's not ruuning and external speaker? If it is, then try disconnecting that. If it isn't, the try connecting an external speaker.

Have you tried getting somebody close by to talk at you? If so, is there any meter/RX signal indicator movement?

You could try taking it out and plugging it into a mates antenna, but I think it's more likely to be a problem with the radio rather than the antenna.

Check that the Antennas are earthed properly. Disconnect your radio, and with a multimeter, check for continuity between the outer ring of the plug and the body of the car. Also, just because the multimeter says there is continuity, dosent mean that RF signals are ok--eg badly soldered joints/dirty ground where Antenna mounts to bullbar etc can all cause problems.

check the mic first.
should be a 4 pin mic and it needs to be connected or you wont hear anything
