downloading maps???

gday all can anyone assist in the procedure of downloading topo maps from the net onto a garmin gps ...premature thanks

What format does your Garmin need maps in? Can it read Oziexplorer maps?

Doubt it'll handle Ozi Format, although Ozi can export data to Garmin i think..... not sure if it'll flow maps.

Garmin do their own software package for trip planning on a desktop, AFAIK they use proprietary format for their mapping etc so i reckon you'd have to use their software....

You can get an upgraded base map and toppo overlay for garmin mapping GPSs for free.
