HJ60 Long Range Tank
Hey all. I am going to buy a Long Range Tank for the 60. I have done a bit of research and need some advice - any pics would be great. I think that I want to get a replacement tank insetad of an auxillary. 150 litre and 190 litre tanks are available. I was wondering how low they hang. I know that they are mounted to the body, so with my 2" bodylift they should suit ok I think. The spare wheel is already on a rear carrier so no worries there. I'm figuring that if I go with a new tank it may as well be as big as available. So Opposite Lock or 4wd Systems? Including freight the OL tank is about $180 dearer. I have found out the following info;
Long Ranger - only make a auxillary tank.
LRA - Make a 150 litre replacement tank.
Opposite Lock - Make a 190 litre replacement tank.
4WD Systems - Make a 190 litre tank.
Brown Davis - Haven't checked these guys out yet.

The problem is with the shipping. The freight companies won't touch fuel tanks unless they have a 'fuel free certificate' or something along those lines.turbo4t wrote:I have an O/L 150 replacement and a Brown Davis aux. 75L. The replacement tank doesn't hang low at all with no body lift. BTW they are both for sale if you want either or both.

If you're interested I can get it to you. The freight companies won't even know what it is when wrapped. Both were diesel anyway so not so much of a safety issue.Sixty's Guy wrote:The problem is with the shipping. Pack it in a big box and call it a tool box! I work in transport.Sixty's Guy wrote:The problem is with the shipping. I had a 190l brown davis tank. They are mounted to the body so body lift is good, although it didn't hang down enough to ever hinder me.

4WD Systems and Opposite Lock sell a 190 litre tank as apparently Bown Davis do too. 4wd Systems told me that their tank mounbts to the body, so there fore will suit a bodylift real well. The Opposite Lock store that I rang said that their tank mounts to the chassis rails.
