Landcruiser towing ability....Will it or won't it?

Not sure about weight but I ahve towed a 25ft bertram with twin mercruisers, flybridge and full kit. It was on a massive heavy steel non roadgoing trailer, so would be about 5 ton all up.
The cruiser was a f*cked 80 series on a minesite with more rust tahn you would ever belive - replaced the rear floor 3 times and chassis looked like swiss cheese. No exaggeration.
Car was 220000km when speedo stopped. 1HZ powered manual that was driven every day by nationals and me in PNG, this was not a loved motor. Spped limt was 50km and every road was dirt. Beside the ocean, acid mine drainage, salt, 4000mm rain/yr, geothermal steam, mud. Think about clocking up the KM in those conditions. It did get sercvied regularly, by a PNG company.....
Pulled it no worries. One hill over the stockpile took 4 Low 1st to get over, with all 4 wheels spinning like crazy, but over she went. That hill was FAR steeper than any boat ramp, it was a temporary diversion road.
I would suggest the tyres helped. Make sure they are AT or MT radials. For some unknown reason they ran cross ply jeep serice tyres at the mine, and they had no traction.

If you saw what we hooked new cruisers up to and pulled (short distances) you'd know, the 3.5T tow rating is a road safety thing, for emergency situations they are good for much more, keep in mind it will put additional wear and tear on drivetrain, but hey... (im using work ones) thats what its for right!
Ive seen a 1989 2H powered troopie (loaded) towing a FULLY loaded 6x6 MKV international acco nearly 3 kilometres up near Sandy Cape, across tidal sand flats and boggy sand, the truck had no drive power to assist the troopie.
6 tonnes up and down a boat ramp aint that much. Low range, easy on the clutch.

The so called 'ultimate tourer' has got a pansy ARB step only rated to tow 1600kg according to the sticker. Plus i'd use a tank of juice just pulling the boat up the ramp.
got a mate with a tractor? Bloke here in Torquay launches a massive dive charter aluminium boat on the sand with a fergie...in preference to the perfectly good boat ramp - see him drive home everyday with the bloody thing to is house about 5 km away
