Changeing the Plug on metal Saw How to do ? Urgent Plz help

Wasnt sure sure where to put this so I thought here.

I just snapped one of the pins off the plug on my metal drop saw and need to replace it so I can cut some steel.

The pug thats on it now only has two pins.

Is it just a case of just cautting the lead, splice and join into new plug ?

Any help would be appreciated casue I'm very cautious when it come to 240 V.

cut the plug off it, get a new one from jaycar or dickies and they screw onto it.

I cut the plug off my girlie's hair straightener cos ahe was always taking ages to get ready to go out, and she went and got another plug for it and fitted it.

if she can do it, it can't be that hard.

Thanks for all the info guys, had never done a 240 plug before but when i went over and got one it had a wiring diagram in it.

Done heaps of 12v stuff so know how it all works just wasnt sure if there were any tricks.

If you have to ask you are certainly not qualified to touch anything electrical. Electricity can KILL PEOPLE. Get someone who knows what they are doing to repair it. ie. a licenced electrician. The majority of electrocutions occur in the home. Its dangerous stuff. Safety first!
