Post by James Brittain »

Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me if a BFG Mud Terrain 235 x 85 will fit on the back door spare wheel carrier of a Disco 1?

Thanks Cloughy,

I mean there isn;t much room between the bottom of a 205/R16 on the carrier and the rear bumper. Just wanted to make sure if i went up to 235/85 that they woudl squeeze in and just clear the rear bumper alowing the door to shut.

You can space it out and upwards with a bit of box section if it doesn't fit.
Many needs some slight shaping if you have a rear wiper.

Easy as to do. Go for it.

Dave.

Come to think of it, that's with a 50mm body lift :?

Another carry's a 33 no worries, with no lift ;)

Yes it will fit no probs, i tried a 265/75/16 and it will need a spacer to avoid creasing the rear door.
Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.

Ive got 235 85 16 BFG At's on mine and it fits fine, about 20mm clearance between the tyre and rear bar.

no need to space it or lift it.
