100 series 1fzfe auto ECT button

on my cruiser my ECT light formy auto has stopped lighting up i am not sure if the button is working

Check the 2nd start button works, if so it could be the button itself, or the LED on the dash.

Pull the surround up and check the little black connector underneath the ECT / 2nd Start button.
It's the same connector for both buttons, so if you pull it off and WD40 it or something then you might be able to work out what's broken.

They sometimes come loose, especially if you or someone's played around down under the plastic centre cover before.

If you haven't done it before though:
To get the centre bit off easily - Put trans and xfer to N, unscrew the xfer case lever knob, then open your cup holder lid, and pull forward & up on the cup holder lid that's open... will pop straight up.

Careful of the wires etc, make sure they're all connected good.

While you're down there grab a vacuum cleaner cos there was friggen heaps of dust and crap down there in mine!

Mine also gets pretty hot under that plastic hood.

i did take the button out and put the meter on it seemed allright might just be the globe in the dash i have had the dash out once its a shit of a job. might try and replace the globe and spray some contact cleaner down the switch

when you press it does it lock out 1st? if so, globe, if not, fuse or wiring maybe??

all fixed was just a blown globe
