Melbourne Mechanic

Post by ToNkA »

Simple question....

But who do people recommend as a 4x4 specialist mechanic in Melbourne?

No one at Mercedes seems to be able to sort out problems on the G-Wagen so thinking of taking it somewhere, where mechanical knwoledge should prevail.

Help please?

The current president of the Suzuki 4wd Club (vic) has a G-wagon that he gets serviced on a pretty regular basis... I've never heard any complaints about the work that gets done on it...

I can have a chat to him and find out where he goes if you like?

Indeed - the very same car.

Okay, here's my shorthand notes from a conversation over the phone:

Either go to:

Mitchell Perrit - Burnley Street Richmond

or

Amstar - Lower Heidelberg Rd - Opposite entrance to APM Fairfield (Alphington).

Apparently some fellow by the name of Anthony used to work at the Richmond place and now runs the Amstar place... He is meant to be very good (therefore the Amstar place seemed to be the most recommended).

I hope I got all the names right - no doubt they are spelt differently or something.

Oh and p.s. You'd better supply me with a few photos of your G that i can forward on to Steve :D ... Either that or i'd reckon he will have to come and have a look at it somewhere.

Cheers

Thanks greg.....

Bogged. No real problem at the moment, just had simple things 4x4 related that Mercedes don't seem to understand. Thought it would be better to go somewhere that either is competent with real four wheel drives or works on a G-Wagen on a regular basis. Parts are always an issue and most have to be sent from Germany, but greg looks like he has steered me in the right direction now.

There's plenty of very shiny G's around St Kilda road... They seem to play to 'toorak tractor' part quite well.
