What aftermarket exhaust has anyone put on their 300 tdi's?
Any point looking for more power? I need to get mine changed or re-bent due to it sticking out like dogs balls after the body lift, rear bar removal and guard cutting. Any suggestions? Cheers

exhaust
I used to have a 2.5'' exhaust with one lukey muffler and got rid of the other one towards the back of the car ur exhaust is already 2.5'' from the back of the turbo to your first muffler so it's pretty cheap cost me $220 gave it a nice note and with a snorkle it would leave my old mans td5 behind from the traffic lights, so then he went and got a 50% chip
so then I went and put in a 4.6V8
the place that did my exhaust was carline brisbane

defender 110,4.6,auto,36simex,maxidrive everything. "JEEP" your right, I dont understand????
I keep reading this on various boards and I'd like to know how you can get more power taking the muffler out when the OE muffler is a bigger ID than the exhaust and is straight through anyway ?cooter wrote:i only have my rear muffler in mine atm and that is blown out and busted big increase in power and it isnt that loud at all (85db)
FWIW, stock size is 60mm/2,3/8" and most bends are mandrel bent, so it isn't too bad.
Currently running 3" mandrel bent all the way with only a rear resonator and the improvement over stock isn't startling but it's OK. Made up of straight aluminised tubes and welded on black mandrel bends.
Spool up low down is definitely quicker, and the ability to rev is very much improved. Max speed in third went from 80-82km/h (straining its guts out and just couldn't rev any more) to 100km/h if I really, really have to (but it doesn't really like it). 90-95km/h is easy.
Initially ran without any noise suppression at all. If anyone tells you that the turbo acts like a muffler, they either haven't run one, or they're deaf. It was painful, and the resonance right on 100km/h (33" tyres, stock gearing) was unbearable. The resonator has helped, but it's still too loud.
Also lowered maximum EGT's by over 20*C with stock fuelling, so gave a little more scope when the pump was tweaked.
