I have an R150F Bundera box which has an offset rear transfer.(Bundera has offset rear diff)
I am putting it into a 4runner and the offset,while still a workable set-up may interfere with the new Turbo exhaust system and existing fuel tank.
Just in case I need to change transfer cases.
What model toyota can I get a centre rear transfer off which will fit an
R150F box???
Hoping i won't need it anyway.

Yea but I think you will find that they are chain type t/cases. No good if you want to put in duals or low gear t/case gears. If you do, you will need a gear driven case, but you will need an adapter to mate the gearbox to the t/case. Go to http://www.marlincrawler.com he has adapters to suit.

Yes!This a Turbo Bundera box and transfere.
By the way what is the problem with chain drive transfer's.All the heany duty boxes seem to have them?
I am not planning any radical rock hopping.Mainly beachwork,hills(like the Brindabella's) and the usual bush track mudhole sought of off roading.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.
The chains are prone to stretching and then jumping teeth if given a hard time off road. Also there are no aftermarket reduction gears available for them.
You can use the bundera rear diff but you need to re-mount the fuel tank on the passenger side which is fairly easy to do. You can still leave the filler where it is. The only other problem here is the Horseshoe crossmember can hit the tailshaft if the rear suspension has too much flex.

I only know I paid fro an R150F.
It was off a Jap import Bundera though.
I got it off Dumbdunce who seems to know his shit.
Haven't had time to clean it up yet,but if your right about it being a R151 I'll let you know.

earlier bunderas/LJ7x's (to early 1990ish, the changeover date varies in different markets) with the early roller rocker 2L-T motor have R151F gearbox, later ones with the 2L-TII or 2L-TE motor have the R150F, the only difference I am aware of is in the ratios. similarly the earlier turbo 4runners have R151F's and the V6's have the R150F.
I know this doesn't really help much.
the offset cruiser transfer on that box is the same as in late 4x,6x, early (to 1993) 7x cruisers with motors ranging from 2F,3F(E),2H,12H-T,1HZ, 2L-T(E, II), 22R, they are pretty bulletproof and unless you need super low gears I'd stick with it.
