New Tyres

Post by T_Diesel »

Needing to get a new set of rubber in the next few months. I have had BFG Mud Terrains for the last two sets and have been pretty happy with them but wouldn't mind a change this time.

I am tossing up between the Cooper STTs and the Mickey Thompson MTZs in a 285x75x16, any thoughts or recomendations on either or both sets of tyres?

Both of these tyres are OK, you'll be happy with either.
If you're up for a 'change' try a slightly different size.
LT 305 70 R 16 ... same height, just a bit wider than
the 285's. Will cost extra $ tho.
Just a thought...Dave.... :D

I just got my MTZ's in the 285 size and so far they are great.

quieter on road than my old muddies.

How wide is a 305 on the old scale? 13.5"?

At the moment I am running 31 x 10.5 x 15 so either way its going be a big move changing to a 16 x 8 rim and a 33" diameter.

305's are actually pretty much 12.5" but in real terms
about 12" mounted on an 8" wheel. They are sposed to
be the metric (16") equivilent to 33 12.5 15...........

HAve you had a look at the MAxxis M8080
they make them in a 35x13.5x16 and also in a 33x13.5x16

not a bad little tyre for under $300 a boot
