lifting lpg tank

Post by petespatrol »

hi all i got a lwb patrol on gas and im thinking of doing a body lift but want to know if anyone has lifted there lpg tank as well.
ive had a look at mine and it is bolted to the chassis so was thinking of pulling it out and trying to bolt it on top of the chassis.and if that didnt work cut the mounts of and bed up two straps to go around it and then bolt to the rear floor.
any info and/or pics would be great
cheers guys

i would bolt it to the chassis rather then the floor pan, as there is a lot of weight hanging off somthing so thin

Mine's bolted to the alloy tray floor. There are two steel bars about 450mm long by 50mm wide on top of the tray with 12mm bolts fixing the tank straps underneath. Solid as and legal. Seems easier than making brackets to clamp to the chassis.
