Who makes a bolt on power steering kit?
My desire for power steering surpasses my skills(and confidence)in installing steering components. And since I reside in Japan I can't ask one you guys and the local shops here don't want to touch it.

Thanks

You don't need a "kit" as Hiluxes have factory p/steering so just roll on down to the local wreckers & grab a set up off a similar model & bolt it on. :D

These are prob very rare over there. As most Jap spec Hilux/Surfs were IFS.

If you can find an early Solid front axle surf the power steering kit will bolt on. This is if you are running a deisel engine. You will need the Box including the mount and steering shaft, Lines, pump and bracket and also the balancer off the front of the engine if you dont allready have enough spare belt groves. The other thing you will need is the radiator and bottom hose and cross over tube as the pump goes right where your current bottom radiator hose is.

These will bolt right on with no mods.

Actually I am hoping to also do crossover steering or at least modify the steering to get better flex.

Thanks

Hey Ruff,
I know you probebly know more about Hilux's but wondering if you know if a 100 series p/steering box will fit a 80 series with little or no mods ?

If not sure, how do you think i could find out ?

Cheers.

I have never looked at a 100 series box sorry.
You would need to look at them and compare the two.

Cross over will need a bit of custom fabbing, you can buy everything that bolts on, besides you will need to mount a IFS steering box to the frame

18R, look around at older cars, celicas etc with 18Rs with factory power steering and remove the pump and all associated bracketry for your motor
