4.88 diffs are LJ50, and fit 1.0 housings.

If I recall, r&p are different, as are the splines and everything else. They are different front to rear in a 1.0 too.

Christover might be able to help more. he has been very, well, intimate with 1.0/lj50 swaps.

Just unlock one side for most of your off roading. ie 3wheel drive.

if you're on nth side of brissy,

chase up the NBS boys, they should be able to identify for you, although they may not understand the desire to remove it..

I have 4:88 LJ50 diffs in my 1.o litre housings.

Front LJ diff is straight bolt in to front 1 litre.

Rear however needs the sierra 1 litre carrier (right word?), as axles are bigger on sierra rear, wheras LJ is same both ends.

So I used the pinion housing and pinion from LJ and bolted Sierra 1.0 centre to it, with the LJ crown gears bolted to it.
