Winching Batteries

Post by beretta »

Hi all,

I am planning a chop of my old GQ with a view to building it into a winch challenge truck. What I need to know now is what batteries are people using in comp winch challenge trucks to keep the power up to their winches. Sizes and brands would be very helpful. I am planning on running two winch batteries, and one for cranking the motor.

At the moment I am running two 700 calcium cell batteries, is there bigger and better than these?

I have seen amazing perfomance from AC Delco Batts, but this isn't an area I know a lot about.

Thanks for any help!

Cheers, paul

In the rnage we ran two procomp 10000cca batterioes and they were great. Did one wincvh in the OBC & one in the Ateco with no motor runnig.

Now run two Odyssey PC1700 batteries for winchin and one of the procomps as the starting battery. The PC1700 ar strong but expensive.
