okay, I have had a few people PM me asking how I did the sOA and also how much it cost me. well I thought that maybe so that this thread can be used as a bit of a reference asrticel too (very basic reference!!) I would post up this reply that i sent to a chap earlier
Remember that prices vary heaps, and most of this work a lot of people can do themselves with a bit of help. There may also be steps left out, and some people will have different ideas of way to do things, so use this info as a guide only!! cool.....

HEY HOW ARE YOU. *****private jibber jabber******* ......WITH MY SPRING OVER I GAINED ABOUT 6" TO 8" OF LIFT, USING STANDARD SPRINGS. I WOULDN'T CONTEMPLATE USING LIFTED SPRINGS AT ALL WITH A SOA.... IT WOULD BE SIMPLY TOO HIGH, AND UNDRIVABLE OFF ROAD. THE IDEA IS TO LIFT IT, AND GAIN SOME EXTRA USABLE FLEX, WITHOUT GOING TOO HIGH. I HAVE A 3" BODY LIFT THAT I AM TAKING OUT. BECAUSE IT MAKES IT A TAD HIGH. IF WHEN YOU SPRING IT OVER, AND IT STILL DOESN'T FIT YOUR TYRES, TRIM THE GUARDS!!
did u use standard springs or reset lifted springs?
what other mods did u have to do ? eg brake line ext swaybars etc
I HAD TO EXTEND THE BRAKE LINES BACK AND FRONT. JUST BOUGHT EXTENDED ONES FROM A BRAKE HOSE SUPPLIER. YOU HAVE TO GET THEM CUSTOM MADE. COST ABOUT $90 EACH. I ALREADY HAD THE SWAY BARS OFF THE CAR..... DON;T REALLY NEED THEM.... BUT IF YOU REALLY DO WANT YOUR SWAY BARS FOR ROAD, JUST MAEK UP SOME DROP BRAKETS FOR THEM, MAYBE EVEN INCORPORATING A QUICK RELEASE PIN SYSTEM SO YOU CAN TAKE THEM OFF WHEN YOU GO OFFROAD.
was there much fuggin around involved in the installation?
ALL UP IT COULD BE DONE IN A DAY WITH THE RIGHT TOOLS AND A COUPLE OF MATES. BEST IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO AN OXY KIT, A WELDER, AIR RATTLE GUN AND AN ASSORTMENT OF SOCKETS AND SPANNERS. NOTHING MUCH ELSE REALLY THAT YOU NEED.

INSTEAD OF GOING INTO WHAT IT COST ALL UP, BECAUSE I STILL DON'T KNOW BECAUSE I GOT A LOT OF HELP FROM A GOOD MATE WHO OWNS A 4WD SHOP, I WILL WRITE A LIST, WITH AN APPROXIMATE COST FOR EACH MOD. IF YOU CAN'T DO ALL THE STUFF YOURSELF, A COMPLETE DRIVE-IN/DRIVE-OUT SERVICE INCLUDING SHOCKS ETC IS ABOUT $3500. BUT AS I SAID, IT REALLY IS AN EASY JOB.
BASICALLY YOU NEED....
*UNBOLT THE DIFFS FROM THE CAR, AND GRIND OFF THE SPRING PERCHES
*PURCHASE NEW SPRING PERCHES X4 @ ~$25 EACH
*WELD THEM ONTO THE TOP OF THE DIFFS, MAKING SURE TO ROTATE THE PINION 12 DEGREES UPWARDS FROM THE ORIGINAL POSITION, BACK AND FRONT
*CUT FRONT STEERING KNUCKLES, AND RE-WELD BACK INTO ORIGINAL POSITION (IE. 12 DEGRESS BACKWARDS TO RETAIN ORIGINAL STEERING GEOMETRY). ~$200-300 TO GET SHOP TO DO THIS
*BOLT DIFFS BACK IN PLACE WITH EXTENDED U-BOLTS, USING THEM IN THE "U" POSITION. COST ~$100 FOR 8
*FIT EXTENDED BRAKE LINES BACK AND FRONT ~$90 EACH LINE
*PROP SHAFTS WILL NOT NEED TO BE EXTENDED. THEY WILL BE THE CORRECT LENGTH STILL
*STEERING -- SEVERAL OPTIONS
--> WELD AND BRACE SECOND FLIPPED STEERING ARM ONTO PASSENGER SIDE ~$200 FOR SHOP TO DO
--> PURCHASE ONE OF MANY VARIED STEERING KITS AVAILABLE RANGING UP TO $1350 FOR A COMPLETE "HEAVY DUTY HIGH STEER KIT"
*ORIGINAL SHOCKS CAN BE USED, BUT PREFERABLE TO MAKE NEW TOP AND BOTTOM MOUNTS BACK AND FRONT, AND MOUNT LONGER SHOCKS. COST VARIES BUT MY OPTION WOULD BE TO PAY ~$300-500 AND GET A SHOP TO WELD ON NEW FRONT SHOCK HOOPS, AND ALL NEW MOUNTS, AND INSTALL LONGER SHOCKS ~$500-1000 A SET
*A TRACK BAR ON THE REAR DIFF WILL MOST PROBABLY BE REQUIRED ALSO, WHICH WOULD COST ~$600 FOR A SHOP TO MAKE UP AND MOUNT
*ONCE DOING THE SPRING OVER, YOU MAY ALSO WANT TO REMOVE OR ADD LEAVES FROM THE SPRING PACK, DEPENDING ON WHAT WEIGHTS YOU CARRY, AND THE STATE OF THE EXISTING SPRINGS
