it is sprung over, no need for those arched 2inch OME springs, they sit dead flat.

I have about 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches of up travel on a 14inch travel shock. It uses basically all of the down travel available too.

Sorry Mick, what i meant was - in the pictures above your front springs appear to be sitting flat, and the shackle appears to be maxed out to full compression...

Is this the ride height that your car sits at?

i just sort of answered this but i will answer it again anyway. Everyone is too fast on the replies!

On the front it has at the shock set up with about an inch of up travel on it. I could set it up so it had more but the tyres will eat into the firewall too much. The shock is pretty much my bumpstop. I know thats a bit of a no-no but i havent had a problem with it so far.

It rides all right, the shackles make a bit of a clunk on big bumps bit its not too bad.

The rear is set so it has about 1/4 compression, 3/4 droop. I think they are a 12 inch shock on the rear.

yeah the pic is at ride height. With the flat springs i have in the front on compression of the spring the shackle swings away from the chassis. If you have an arched spring as the spring compresses it gets longer so the shackle swings backwards.

it looks like his ride hight
an the shackle will come forward under compression so the only thing thats stops the up travel is his shock

they were just standard hilux/cruiser offset. Now, without the 2 inch spacers, it is about 50mm wider than it was.

I have got some IFS hubs to go on the front for a bit more width, and will get an ifs rear when i find one for the right price.

How massive is the scrub radius Mick? It looks like it must take a fair arc to turn that tyre?

not much more than running 2 inch spacers and quite a bit less than running 3 inch spacers ;)

How far forward is the front axel from the firewall? Or at least - how far forward did you move it? That's where i thought it would rub, but evidently it doesn't... :cool:

it doesnt hit the firewall but i cut it out nearly to the door. I have reare up front with the centre bolt drilled 4 inches forward. I am having a few issues with the front springs wrapping up so i am going to put some hilux fronts in.

I also bent a set of rear springs so i am putting hilux fronts in there too.

I am going out on thursday for a photo shoot so i will get the rears done for then but the fronts will be done after that.

Sweet... so i guess that makes the front diff about 1" (rears up front conversion) + 4" (redrilled holes) = 5" forward...

Those rims look familiar ;) My valves are not that far in though :cry: But they beat using spacers :cool:

i dont have any batteries for my camera at the moment.

There is just a piece of 3mm flat that bolts onto the door hinge bolts. I have then welded the tube to the flat.

When i get some batteries i will take some shots if i remember

Saw this truck at Woodpecker today...AWESOME. Really inspired me to finish off mine....

Oh and I forgot to ask you about the change to the traction bar in the rear. Why that design?

I was the first car on the track. It did it all easy up until cv rock. I got over it but broke the bunting when it bounced sideways. Gonads and fergo said to give it some numbers so i gave it some :lol: I should have just winched it like everyone else ended up doing.
