Are you talking using centipede's like this on you DD
Image

or more like a BF Goodrich style MT (simex refer to both as centipede's)
The BF style is fine for a DD .. the other set is just wasting $$ to burn on the bitumen... (says he who used to run his DD on 33 swampers )

I run 31" extremes on my zook permanantly, even though it is only used for offroading it still does a lot of onroad work, and they seem to be wearing ok. Just dont run em without shocks like i did for a while, you bounce going down the road and it rips the shit outta your steers.

I run 31" ETs ... my car was a daily for a while and they aren't that bad if you can stand the noise and are aware of the fact that they move around a bit and in the wet they kind of skate around.

Have not had them long enough to tell how they wear yet. But i probably did more damage to them an hour off road (18psi sand, rocks, mud) than i did driving them from Wodonga to Hobart (32psi)...

Boy, they must be noisy..... I have run swampers for years and they don't bother me at all.

However, I wouldn't really use any specialised off road tyre on a daily driven car - there is no point. Even if they are legal, they handle poorly and wear quick enough that it is far cheaper to run some stockers on the road if you are doing big Km's.

Ps has anyone run 'pede's backwards on the front? I ran some 35" claws backwards on the fron of my g and whilst they were noisier and tramlined more under brakes, they were heaps better offroad when reversed.... nearly as good as a Swamper :D

(I'm so biased - I love it....yay swampers for me!! swampers swampers all the time  Oooo who's a pretty swamper then :P )

Ive Run Simex MT 31x10.5x15 on a sierra for everything, not bad, better than a BFG MT imho. Ive also rum mongrels 32x10.5x15 and simex JTs 34x10x15 on the same care, The simex MT Was the Best
It's the one on the right, Dammit !!!

I had them on a lwb Vit full time and they still looked new when I sold them> Can't remember how many kms they were on for but I think it was getting to 30,000, I know it was more than 20,000 and I don't really baby my tyres. They have a better void than an MTR for clearing the mud too.

well spotted cj, he was asking about MT's not ET's... there you go nothing like getting all excited and going off on a tangent.

160 is a good price. especially compared to bfgs and MTRs. if you wan something more agressive then look at the new Kuhmo muddy and the New Federal Muddy. They both look like a sweet tyre and are in the 160-180 range

I believe I actually run these tyres now, after being sold to another guy and then to me :)

They are at approx 50% and I have no probs on the freeway driving to and from work (~35km each way) at 110kph. No probs stopping in the wet either.
