4runner tailgate

hey guys im just wondering if a 4runner gen 2 or 3 tailgate will fit on a gen 1? Its for a 1987. ive just been to every wrecker i can think of and found stacks of the newer designs mint condition and one rusty gen 1. Or if anyone has a gen 1 tailgate for sale please let me know. Much appreciated guys and gals

sorry, can't help with gen 2/3 tail gates, but i have a link to a site that sorta show's you how to put a gen 2 lux tailgate on. i'm thinking of doing it because i wana change my rear window to lift-up canopy style. the gen 2 lux tailgate has the handle on the outside in the middle, not sure if same fit as gen 2/3 runner's.
'85 1st Gen Runner- 31" rubber, 2" susp. lift, UHF. more mods coming soon.

I have 2 with no rust one in maroon and one in blue the window works in both however i am in victoria and freight would be a killer

I have a spare gen 2 tailgate (LN130) from my surf laying around if you want to see if it will work.
91' Hilux Surf with the usual mods & a few different ones ....

yeah thanks for the offer Dougster but i got mine popped out so the window will go down again. so till i can find a gen one spare im all set
