what a weekend not

Post by Wish I had coils »

After a bit of planing and putting the old mk on the hoist, doing a service. Installing a 2inch body lift, i thought i was ready to go.

Thursday night fueled up and threw the camp gear in and friday morning left, heading off to craigs hut then on to wonangatta.

I got about hour done the road and heard a clunk, i stopped had a look and could see nothing, so i kept going bout half hour later GUESS WHAT a worked out the first clunk noise It's called a rear wheel bearing  because out popped my axle

Theres my problem, Call a friend up bought out spare diff, Great :D
Putt diff in bleed brakes put right wheel on, nearly there! Put left wheel but wheel nuts don't fit on studs. OK no prob knock them out of my other axle, do that but then they do not fit there smaller  By this stage i was real pissed wrapped them in tape got the wheel on and the nuts and i'm off.

Trip went great after that Till Lock the hubs in and guess What different diff ratios  got out ok, got home safe, had a great time, drank some piss at the end of the day thats what camping and 4wd is all about hope you like reading about my screw up

Diff ended up being same ratio, front to rear don't know what i've done but front diff was fine before i left. i Think i may have broken an axle.

I'll keep u's posted when i pull the front diff down.
