OZROCK - Round 3 - LARA June 2-3
Moderator: evanstaniland
A message from mal v here. Would have to say that this round of OZ ROCK was the best ever. and would probably the best event that i have ever been to. my cars just getting too big and heavy for this type of driving so no more rock crawling for the bushranger. Nick and i will be back we wouldnt miss these events for the world.
Was an awsome day!
Thought people where gonna die when the buggys throtel got stuck on and was cleared half the hill only to be stopped by a massive rock! Was he alright?
Left a little bit after that did any one drive the huge drop up? Vid!
Got me and YBLOW4 to stop and have a wheel closer to home!
Was a great event and congrates to every one who had something to do with it!
Hope fully be back there again?

What a ripper weekend... weather was great, not a drop of rain on either Saturday or Sunday, and mostly sunny both days. Guess Cheezy's deal with the big guy is rock solid. We had about 40 friends and family turn up over the weekend to see what its all about... at least now that know what we are talking about, even if they still think we're mad!
Venue is spot on - the more rounds we have here the larger the crowd will get... and the crowd was enthusiastic and mostly well behaved I have to say. A few of our freinds bought young kids along, and were impressed with the way they were catered for and looked after. Linda even made them little show bags with autograph books and stuff in them - went over a treat!
Great courses, competitors just keep stepping it up. Saw some amazing driving - lots of saved roll overs, and lots of unsaved rollovers!
I've never even seen anyone go near driving off a drop off like 'the chute'... so being the first one down was certainly the largest pucker factor I've experienced so far. What a rush. Linda took some good video of it... held out long enough to see the landing before collapsing/fainting (said she forgot to breath!).
Hope Moon Man is OK - that was a nasty hard hit man. Also hope Sean and Adrian are OK after a pretty brutal weekend for you guys.
And it was absolutely wicked to see the Qld boys down for this one - great effort guys, hope you can make it to more rounds.
Thanks to Cheezy, Sharron and the Oz Rock crew... see you all back in Walbundrie!

You guys have balls of steel. Sorry and girls. Michelle (I think) she put on a great show for her 4th drive you wouldnt know it.
As a first time spectator I loved how close you are to the action. Cheezy you did an awsome job with crowd control. Not an easy job but you made it fun for everyone. Congrats to all the competitiors and thanks for a great show. Have some great pics will be posting them up very soon just uploading them to a server.
"THE CHUTE"
Who was the maniac that said "we will let them drive down this if they want".

well we are back in the best state in the world where the sun is shining and you can walk around in shirts and shorts....
what an awesome four days we had...headed off in the big F Truck with the dual buggy carrier trailer in tow around 9pm on Thursday night and this was followed by 20 hours of filth, vulgarity, sexual references, abuse and rewriting of the songs on the CDs in the stacker...pity the other four guys in the car were so quiet but....
after getting to Vic and to the comp site late on Friday arvo we were in awe at the rocks at the venue and so close to melbourne..this venue really has great potential and i am sure if Cheezy and crew can continue to use this property for future events it will get better and better...
was some great drives over the weekend and all in all i had a great time.. from the wheelin, the night games and the meals at the local...it really is a good atmosphere for a comp
gotta say a big thanks to Sam and Chuck from Haultech for letting me have the time off to head down, and to Adrian, Sam Wes and Twopeeeee for the road trip..
well done Cheezy and crew and it was good to finally make it down to an Ozrock event and i am sure we will definitely be going back down and bringing more buggies as well..we already have three definite starters for the next one..Sam , Adrian and myself..

But I just couldnt imagine what wold be required froma buggy and driver to make it up that. Time will tell I suppose.

Thanks Cheesy for putting on another good event.
The lines were pretty wild, and we had a bit of a shocker on Saturday with the 2 rollovers but the buggy is still all good.
Good to catch up with all the competitors again, the atmosphere between all the teams is great
It seemed like there were a lot of spectators too which is great. Having the events closer to civilisation (if you can call Melbourne that ) is a good thing for the sport!
As Ann has said, we've uploaded about 300 pics, and have proably another 500 to go which will be uploaded over the next few days.

I will try and keep this short so i don't bore to many people.
I had a great weekend and we will be back for more at future Ozrock events. It was my first time at an Ozrock and i was very impressed. I do have a few concerns and issues but i am keeping that well away from here and only involving the appropriate people. But all in all it was a great event.
I must thank a few people that always make it possible for me to attend these events.
Bec and Lochie, thanks for your understanding and support and putting up with me not been home for weeks leading up to an event.
Sam O and Charles at Haultech Eng for allowing me space to work on my buggy and time off for attending this event.
Wes for doing such a great job trying to get my fat arse on the right line.
Lil Tom for all you help in getting the buggy preped and ready for the event and thanks for the help at the event, little things like putting fuel in the buggy makes our job (trying to farken beat pete ) that little bit easier.
Dave for building an awesome trailer that got our buggys to the event and also for keeping me warm at night.
Big thanks to my sponsors TJM and Mickey Thompson for providing me with the assistance i need to perform well at these events.
To the ambulance boys, especially Cal. Thanks for your assistance when i decided to use my leg as a wheel chock.
To all the OZROCK crew, thanks heaps for a great weekend. The hospitality was awesome and the atmosphere of the event is a true reflection of all the hardwork you guys put in.
Thanks to all the media that came to the event to film, take photos and report on this great sport. Looking forward to seeing the finished products.
Thank you to all the competitors that came along to compete. I am always impressed by how well teams are growing in performance from event to event.
I am also thankful for the phonecalls and messages from other teams and support crew in regards to how my leg is. I went to the doctors today and they confirmed what the ambos said. Torn calf muscle. Its still very sore but getting better.
I am sure there are many people to thank for such a great weekend but i figure most people stop reading when the see whos written the post.
Oh and one last thing ... Go Queenslanders for retaining the next Human Rockcrawling title at Walbundrie!!!
Great event.

superman is slightly more co-ordinated than you moose, and he'd have pulled the buggy over, not been pulled A-over-T by the buggy, lol, but id also like to see a live action replay , maybe in slow-mo, it was a pisser, lol
