I am hoping to fit a nissan 4.2 motor in place of 2.8 , do i have to use the same year model motor as the car ?????????????????????

From my understanding it the same year or newer but you need to upgrade the emmissions system to that of the year of the motor ?

Something like that.

I just went through this in NSW and all you have to do is meet the relevant emmision standards for your car ie mine was a 2005 so Euro 4 standards had to be met.
