Huge thank you to Cheezy, Sharon, Webbie, emergency services, organisers, locals, 4wdtv, Marks, all other sponsors, Shooting range, canteen, food stalls, etc. etc. The list goes one.
Looking forward to all of the pictures and videos and if anyone has any of the firebug then please send em through
It was a hard fought even in the end with Pete, Mooney, Adrian and us all fighting it out to the bitter end.
In theory any one of the four teams could win it all on the last shoot-out.
We needed all of you guys to DNF and us to drive it clean including all bonuses, and stranger things have happened. haha.
Pete - very hard to beat once again, you and Tazz are all over it. Awesome to watch you try that very first bonus on day 1, course 1. No one else went anywhere near it after you rolled and broke that steering heim. Then the drive back up it later on was very cool. Only one that managed that bonus in either direction so you got a point lead there on all of us
Adrian - Nice work, we were 4 points behind you on saturday and hoping to beat you on Sunday, but you managed to get away from us by a cone or so each course. The narrow track and manueverability in that moon buggy is nice. Sorry about your leg squashing incident. Hope it comes good nice and quick and you are back to full health by Werock - Bathurst.
Mooney - Nice driving all weekend and a shame about the stuck throttle on the shootout man. You were doing a very good job pushing Pete and keeping him honest all weekend. Seems you are getting on top of that rear steer now as well.
Shane - I guess its a bit weird talking about your own team but I just wanted to congratulate you on agreeing to let me spot you down the chute on day 2 course 1. That was a big commitment and I was pumped when we pulled it off. First team on the first course for the day and you stepped it up massively. Kept the pressure on the others for sure
Michelle - Very cool driving for a first timer. I hope you had a blast and will be back again.
Sean - Hope you are ok after the trip to hospital and you managed to find some more servo sunglasses to get you back home.
Ben - Shame you guys rolled on the first two courses. Bit unlucky on a few courses really but I can see you guys will be getting better each comp. You have got the hardware and just need some comp time. I spotted Ann walking around in the crowd talking to you guys like she had a headset on saying things like- "No, no! its bound up, stop!", "Go back, back, turn right! Not down there..." I swear she gets more nervous than you by far and will make a brilliant spotter for someone
Sam - Hope you enjoyed the trip and that gave you some motivation to drive a heap more and get on top of that rear steer. Thought I had that first gate on the shootout all worked out and would drive right through it and in the end that deep silty dirt made it a lot harder.
Dave - Mr consistency again. You guys managed to push that buggy really hard at every comp. I don't think I have been to a comp where you haven't rolled it. Terrible spotting for Sean though. haha.
Mal - Shame you had that massive roll but overall I think it is a good call in retiring the bush ranger. It is a wicked truck and is much more suited to Tuff Truck style events. These rockcrawling capers are going off the scale and are always pushing the limits both off camber and vertically more and more each comp.
Awesome work by all the other competitors.
It is hard to keep track of what everyone is getting up to on each course all weekend but I know that all the teams give it 100% on every course and push there buggies and themselves to the limit.
Huge thanks again to Cheezy and anyone else remotely involved in organising such a great event.
Now, when are the dates for the next round out there
