Sierra/Hilux diff mod
Sierra/Hilux diff mod
Hey
I have a 85 sierra and i have come across a set of hilux diffs which i would like to mount under it. Any one who has done this before or knows anything about it, all help is appreciated. Also what other parts should i start looking for?
Thanks for any help
Rob

This has been done plenty of times. IMHO, they are not a good choice for a sierra, but others have the opposite view.
40, 60, 70 series landcruiser or MQ patrol are better options, (although as you are NT MQ front diff/spring pad spacing is an issue.
I imagine you want to go SPOA at the same time. These are pretty involved mods and everyone seems to do it a little bit differently. Obviously, there are dearer and cheaper ways of doing it but there are lots of costs and options that are not apparent now, as with any conversion.
Rather than relying on the board, I would look to joining the suzuki club in your area so you can see the work involved and the way the cars behave.
Just my 2c.
Steve.

you reckon that with the cost of a spoa kit finding hilux diffs (which you already have) and then putting it together or getting someone to do it wouldnt it be cheaper to and better to do a coil conversion? im sure some workshops do them maybe it might break even maybe it would cost more
the car would drive a lot better and as far as i know though i havent researched it would be legal from qld perspective
still like the look of a spoa truck but coils are really starting to talk to me

Overkill did mine drive in drive out at a reasonable price. If you pay some one go somewhere thats done it before. I drove from newcastle to sydney to get mine done as ovrkill has done it all before and the local 4x4 guy up hear said it was a MAJOR job and would cost $500 a day labour only and take over a week!!
Mines a lwb and It feel alot more stable with the toys.
