Much will depend on what amperage you intend to run whilst "out in the field", for example a 6KVA genny will do it if you are planing to run around the 120amp mark, but if you intend to crank up the juice then you will need 10KVA.

Once you surpass around the 8KVA size they tend to be "trailer" jobs, below that tho they are one or 2 man lifting jobs into the family sedan boot.
below 2KVA they are a single person lift job and most would fit on the front seat of the work ute.
The boss bought one of them china made GMC units.... 1.2KVA and has a small 2stroke motor powing it ..... it gets pulled up once the 9" grinder gets pluged in but is fine running 2 or 3 tekguns at once, a couple of 750watt drills, or two 4" grinders...... struggles like hell to boil the electric jug but
