Hey blokes...
After another pretty messy oil filter change, i thought it was time to hit up the boards for some advice... How do you all go about taking out your oil filters without making a huge mess. As soon as the thing starts coming loose, oil pisses everywhere.
Usual method is to hold a huge ass rag around it and hope for as little mess as possible... Still manage to get it everywhere...
Might try a plastic bag around it next time...?
Any help.?

I use a plastic bag or two. it's good to have two because the inner one always tends to get stuck to the filter making it hard to turn!
Punching a drain hole in the bottom sounds like a good idea though!
I've never had much luck with any sort of container under it. At least my diff housing is rust-proofed.
