depends on vehicle it is going on but 4mm is good, 5mm if you intend on doing some serious pounding.

Sounds like 5mm will be the go as I want to work it hard once finished.

Plus as I won't have bog big lift, no doubt I will drag something somewhere on the G60.

With 65mm pipe you have a choice of 3 wall sizes
3.6mm @6.43kg per mtr
4.5mm @7.93kg per mtr
5.9mm @10.20kg per mtr

I used 50mm pipe with 3.6mm walls on a Raider. They held up ok but i would use the 65mm pipe in the future. Also would go with the 4.5mm walls.

i bought 10M of 50x50x4mm for under $130 here in Bris. should be heaps strong enough weighs a bit. Also worked out that each step will hold 6ltrs so i'm running hose to both and then have a 12litre air tank. these are more a step (compromise for the Mrs). i have run a section under the sill lip and the other comes out about 150mm sticks out enough to stop damage to the doorsanyway. They will run in line with the bottom of the chassis. have also added chequer plate on top. my design anyway.
