..Doze a greenie..why? they deserve it.
Marutis are still made in India, It was a joint project between Suzuki the Indian gov and some Indian companies. Suzuki Japan has been been buying back control of it. They won't be imported here as they are- they'd need a mountain of work to become ADR compliant. The Maruti Gypsy (LWB ute) is still available with a injec 1300, power steer and air.

Damn not what I wanted to hear
Damn not what I wanted to hear.
Is there such thing as a coiler LWB sierra??? What years was that??
Hens teeth...I am thinking so.
Were the Marutis utes that were sold here ever sold with the high top roof line??
I am looking for a LWB ute with a high top roof line. Not hard top.
I want to be able to fold down the windscreen while still having the roof on.
thanks

why?
You will also find that some of the earlier Marutis had somewhat limited build quality. But the extra cab type arrangement would be nice. I would love one of the cabs fro mine, just that little extra room for me
Ransom note = demand + collage
The Maruti has a fibreglass top and back (both removable). The only hitop LWB was the Gypsy King; a wagon (from which the local maruti is derived) which never made it out of india. You could attempt to import a new 1.3 EFI maruti, but the costs would be ridiculous!
What is your purpose for having such a vehicle?
i bought mine (95 model) for 6K with 80,000k's on the clock, and am spending about 5k putting coil over suspension, and bundera diffs, with a 308/253 V8 on gas in the near future. For under $15k, I will have a comp ready truck for less than the cost of a new maruti in 1995. Perhaps you should consider what you want the vehicle for, and then modify the most suitable model, rather than searching for a vehicle that doesn't exist.

Guys,
Just to chime in, a mate of mine has spotted an '99 Suzuki ???? Ute with 59,000klms for $6900 and is considering buying.
Q is, is this gunna be a Maruti? If so, it there any major differences between these and a normal Sierra. I also believe it has a wide track, post-96 style body (more sloping bonnet/grill) but running leaves, would this also be correct?
Any help would be appreciated as I know sweet F-A about these so can't really answer any of his questions.
Cheers.
P.S. What's he need to do to get 31"s on this (ie B/Lift, S/Lift, guard cut, etc)?

KRiS
A 2" body lift would fit a 31 if you cut off the front mounting points for the bumper (which you will do anyway)...
Note: Fitting 31's will destroy the gearing of the car and you will also need a rockhopper to make it useable... so keep that in your budget as well.

Sold 'em. diffs, diff centres(4.11's. fit WT diffs) transfer gears( 1litre ratios, fit 1.3 transfer. also ideal for lobster).
Engine and custom 5sp box are up for sale now.
So is the S3 in 95 transfer case.
Got a half stuffed starter motor (maruti) so had to replace with suzuki 1 ltre item.
uphiir wrote:Not lowballing but new gears are $1249 brand new delivered anywhere in Aust. PM how much you'll take for the transfer.
This is true, but other costs with the gears are quite big too... When i got mine installed it was 220 for the installation, but another wad for some new bearings (which are recommended), and plus the cost of the case (which your local wrecker will want anywhere between 50 and 400 for)...

S3 sold for $1500 no questions asked! some people will pay the extra dollars just so they don't have to wait 6+months for it!
(not bagging the hopper boys for the waiting period...I understand the processes involved) And The case owed me almost $1800. inc. new prop shaft.
onto bigger and better things
