I'm sure they'd have some circlip pliers in the workshop at work slowlux Chainsaws are full of circlips. Or get one of those cheapies from a hardware shop that are internal and external in one.
Just be careful when you take the clips off maybe keep one hand over the clip as you withdraw it over the shaft or it could be "ah where the fvck did that go!"
cheers

I love terra firma-the less firma the more terra
thanks guys, yeh i got the socket off hobzee from ebay. Sounds like the same part your speakin of, are you sure it's just a seal from the grease? cause it seeems as though the axle shafts stopping it from coming at all because it moves a little but not heaps?
you did pull the circlip off first right... coz that could be embarressing nah just try everything. a little bit of grit on the spline can make it real hard to get off or even harder to get back on.
cut it with a grinder no seriously..... the part will cost about 11ty trillion dollars from nissan so get a mate who has the "touch" when it comes to your car. i know will off the forum is the only person who can undo nuts or put them back on on my exhaust.
i had the same problem with the drive clutch, but it does come out just persist with it. Use a big set of pliers or something and keep trying, it eventually slips out. You'll feel like an idiot when you eventually get it out cause it's that sinple
I tried again today for a few hours and got nowhere.
I decided I would at least get some new pads in there so I could drive it to a brake workshop safely. Half of the passenger side pad fell out some time when I drove it last. The piston wouldn't push in though. It seems to be seized or something so I refitted the half of the old brake pad that didnt fall out and put the car back together.
Once my other car is back from the workshop after having a new computer installed Ill take the Mav to the experts and get them to do it.
Lucky Ive got a motorbike to get me to work and back everyday.
