'93 Sierrs s/t - lost my keys. DOH!
'93 Sierrs s/t - lost my keys. DOH!
I lost my only key that fits the ignition and doors, of my 93 soft top sierra . I know I should have had a spare one cut long long ago.
Can anyone advise me how to get another one without spending millions?
I have unbolted/unscrewed and removed the ignition bolted to the steering column and can now start the vehicle with the ignition switch joined to the wires.
Thanks Heaps

When I got spares cut for my Sierra, nobody said they could find a close enough blank. One locksmith only would do it, and he used a Honda blank (HON 23R), which ended up working the cylinders better than the original!
I think its a couple of hundred to get the whole car keyed alike with new cylinders, cant be sure? (That includes cost of the bloke breaking into your locked car!)

Sooner or later you will want to get your hands on a spare key for your Suzuki SJ. Suzuki SJ key blanks can be difficult to get hold of. So far, we have found only two manufacturers that currently still produce and distribute these blanks.
United Kingdom
In the United Kingdom, your locksmith will need to order a Silca HD IM4R C337 blank. This is the blank he will use to duplicate your key. (This blank is probably the most readily available worldwide).
United States
In the United States, your locksmith will need to order an b]Ilco SUZ-15 or X185 blank from the code series U0001 - U2000. [/b] If you[ want a plastic finish on the top of the key, he must add the letter "P" when ordering as this denotes the "plastic" finish.

Thanks Guys for your help .
Plan A: I contacted the guy that sold me the car and surprise he still has ('found') a spare key that he is happy to post to me .
Plan B: Talk to the local locksmiths with my ignition barrel advising them of the available key blanks that you have informed me about .
Plan C: Reply to the OL4X4 member who emailed me offering an ignition and key for $40.00 plus postage. If I go with this plan I'll match the door locks later .
Thanks Heaps

Haven't really read through the thread so it might have already been sorted, but providing your door locks are the same key take the Drivers side door lock to a Locksmith. if it has a code it shouldn't cost more than $20 or if it has no code around $40. Note Locksmiths normally charge more to cut keys to an ignition lock.
