Thanx for putting up pics Heckta, I went to do it yesterday after I emailed them out to the clubs but couldn't remember my photobucket login  then wrote off the idea as too hard for now!
We went out there with Jamie and his family to check out the damage ... those pics were taken at LOW tide, the water line mark on the marquis was up near the top of the sidewall, and the whole thing was filled with debris pushed around by the rising/falling of the water, so Reece braved the freezing floodwaters to remove the sides ....

Wow that is awsome, well not really but..... Its hard to comprehend that so much rain fell.

What is it looking like now? I'm assuming the water has subsided?

The situation out at Dargle has changed little over the last few weeks, a lot of water around. Discussion with the property owner has led to yet another postponement, this time hopefully far enough in the future for the property to recover.

Our new date is the long weekend in September 8-9th -gaxetted by the government to encourage us to get out of Sydney during the APEC Summit.

The public holiday is apparemtly not 100% at this stage and is only for Parramatta and closer to the city :bad-words:

Hi Everyone

It is with much regret that I have to announce the cancellation of the Black Rat Challenge.

Roving reporter Jamie went out to Dargle Saturday and found there is still water over some of the areas we use for competition, and the owner is not keen to have people driving on the rest of the property which is still boggy. It has already been postponed too many times and his suggested time frame puts it in the competition season.

Instead we have gotten conditional approval to run Woodpecker there for the last time, which will be our 10th anniversary, after that there will be no further events run out at Dargle.

We will be sending back everyone’s entries, nothing had been banked as yet. We did have to pay for the shirts everyone ordered, and although we cannot force anyone to take them, we would much appreciate it if your members would agree to still purchase them. Think of them as a souvenir … the last Black Rat to have been planned to be held there and possibly the last one ever. A true collector’s item! Could you all please let me know what they want to do?

Regards

Chris Face
