Ok, was hoping to avoid travelling to Bathurst town, not that it will make much of a difference but we will be coming via Goulburn this time. How far is Bathurst from the site? I found some accomodation at Trunkey and Rockley but have been warned about Rockley.

Might just have to buy a better mattress and stay in the 80 again.

Anyone coming up through Goulburn early Sat morning?

We stayed in at Bathurst and its only about 35 minutes to the event site.

Yeah thats about right. I was going to say 40min. But it is a very good run in and out from Bathurst and there is heaps of good accomodation in Bathurst.
We stayed at the Rockley Hotel last time and had no heating,Very little hot water and at times no hot water or running water or the drains were all blocked and flooded the rooms out which the owners then abused us for, No TV and no curtains on any windows. Fair enough the place was being renovated but we were told all the above were sorted out before we got there. And they still tried to charge us full price.

We drove a supercharged v6 VX crummydore out that first year when it pissed down. Didn't get towed at all. Mind you the speedo was reading 160 while we were sideways past the house and down threw the dip  funniest bit was you could feel the floor move and flex as the rocks rolled under it
I think the fact it was getting traded in in a couple of weeks had a bit to do with it  and of cause the yelling and cheering from the back sit made a huge differance too :D

Atleast everybody should have any breakages they get on the saturday fixed for the sunday, I don't think they'd even have to use any break down time to do so
Hay I might even have my buggy ready by then, can I enter just for this sunday :finger:

Or is it the other way around and everybody has missed sunday and all get 50 points for each of those stages :finger:

It was fine last year lots of dust but dry and easy entry/exiting, I think the weather was sunny and cold, the one before was 'a bit' slippery  only cause it had rained most of the week, good memories of Phil- Slowhilux in his 80 and mine exiting the tracks sideways through the mud at about 30km/h, mad fun  Not so much for others, I will be glad to assist this time if it rains and anyone gets stuck.

Thanks Pete - might have to take you up on that.

Last time the commodore was 'extracted' on a car trailer towed by Dave C, and I was strapped to the front of his car in the FireTruck, another hilux strapped to the back of the trailer, and Ruff's buggy strapped to the back of that! What a mission...
