###UPDATE### GROUP BUY: Disco / Rangie / Defender Flares

Post by DaveS3 »

Hi Guys,
I need a set of flares for my Disco and can't stand to pay the $500 or $800 for a Fiberglass set from LRA which will be smashed within a year.

I then found these -->

http://www.innovation4x4.co.uk/arches.htm

I am looking at the Flexi Flares to suit 2 & 4dr Disco and RR, then the make Defender ones too.
Check the Video out - heaps tougher and the fiberglass and at a better price.
The are a rubberised style flare and suit up to a 37" tyre (He has been selling sets with 37'' Maxxis!)

Deal is:
**2 Sets @ Advertised cost plus 60 pound shipping
Or
**5 Sets at advertised cost including shipping (a significant saving!)

If you are interested Please PM or reply here.
Prices need to be confirmed with Steve at Innovation 4x4 before we buy but that is no drama.
Shipping in Aus shouldn't be more than $30 anywhere.
Pickup would be from Box Hill, Vic if possible

Any Questions please ask away, otherwise I will buy a set for myself!

#########UPDATE#######

Hi Guys.
Price will be $510 Landed for any type of set and then allow $40 postage
So to your local Post office for $550.

I believe I have covered everything (Allowed for duty and GST) in the pricing except Australian Postage.

THIS NEEDS TO BE FINALISED BE WEDNESDAY NEXT WEEK (20/6/07) SO PLEASE PM ME YOUR DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS

All money will need to be transfered by the order day as I cannot foot the bill alone and be left with sets.

So Please PM me!!

Hi Guys,

Prices will be confirmed this week and I will let everyone know.

The 70mm GRP ones wont be in until August, so at this stage we are only looking at the FlexiFlares to suit both 2 and 4 door RR and Disco.

Cheers.

Hi Dave,

can you confirm the differences between the 50 and 70? Is it the distance out from the side of the body?

I run 35 11.5 x 16 centipedes, can you confirm if the 50's will cover them?

I think i currently run LRA 2 door flares (were fitted when i bought the car) i think they are the same as the new stage 2 4 door flares, my flares finish just below the body crease, so i would need the set that will most closely resemble what i have, due to cut doors and existing holes. If you require a photo please let me know.

Cheers

Hi Steve,

The 50/70 refers to the flare width.
I cannot confirm that they will cover them though, but the RS / LRA flares are 50mm as well, so if they cover than these will.

These flares may even be slightly larger opening as they apparently clear 37;s fine.

Will hopefully have it all sorted this week (or tonight!)

Cheers Dave.

I couldn't stomach spending les Richmond pricing so i went to Clarke rubber and for $96 for six metres and $12 for tech screws and $18 for sickaflex it just was easier to swallow plus leaves you money for more important mods

rubber flares

Post by 360rangie »

do you mind sending a couple of pics my way. I like your way of thinking, especially when both the flexi flares and rubber ones could easily wind up being torn out of the guard by a tree or side of a rutt, only I know what is the cheaper option.

LOOKS AREN'T EVERYTHING.

Any photos - thinking about these flares for a buddy's truck - do they clear tires BETTER than the LRA ones?

Sorry have'nt been on in a while. Been doing some computer repairs. I wouldn't even be on here today but I was hopping out of the 4wd pasanger side to get another tool that i needed for my stereo relocation, when i put my foot on the power cord and took a dirt bath.. Now I am in bed with a heap of torn muscles in my foot.
The gaurds are wide enough for my 35" x 11.5x15 and still a bit of room left. It would be easy to run a strip of rubber behind them to make them wider for any other tyres.
I will take some photo's tonight post them

So how did the flares go any problems ??
How much guard can you cut ?(82 RR 2door)
I've already cut nearly 3'' and have rubber ones on
now , but they never sit straight .
