GQ Power Loss

Hi Guys,

Got a tb42 GQ patrol, with an electronic dizzy.

Now, at times in rough terrain, or intermittently going uphill the revs fall and rise at random. The motor surges and there is a loss of power.

It starts out with the tacho twitching and ends with a loss of power.

Would appreciate some help with analysing the problem.

I think off the cuff something in the electrics is shaking loose but any thoughts would be great.

I had a problem with power loss in my GU, something to check is the fuel filter inside the fuel pump. Is you car blowing white smoke when you put your foot down?

No its not blowing smoke.

With regard to the Carbie, its been to JPC twice to be looked at. I am sure that is not it.

it maybe the fuel pic up in the tank does it do it with a full tank of fuel

Thanks can be full, empty or anywhere in between....

Mainly happens in rough terrain, which is why I think a connection is shaking loose.

check all ur earths on ur dizzy and any connections for ur ignition, make sure ur vac lines on ur carby havent split, mine was fine one day the next day i split a vac line and it ran like a sick pig.

ok just cant think of any conection that could cause that sort of problem cause it sounds like a fuel thing you said before that you had the carby looked at......??? maybe its your float level like maybe the neadel and seat have a too soft spring and its closing as you get on angles so fuel aint getting where it needs to be......... I dont know if they looked at that or not but if that was checked then i dont know sorry i cant help........

try taking it to melbourne performance tuning the guys there are awsome
